Hello Family,
Other than we continue to plan and discuss venue options, we have nothing else on which to report. The reunion agenda will be relatively standard - standard meet and greet, registration, dinner and announcements on Friday night followed with several featured options on Saturday, e.g., SF Ferry tour, Napa Wine tour, theme park with games and rides, etc., and local golf. We will canvas the general assembly this summer to ensure we facilitate the logistics for all activities. We are making every attempt to select a venue where all, or at least, ninety percent of all reunion events and function are done. Should we have to travel, we are considering private transports for Saturday with shuttle running in 20–30-minute intervals.
While we have tried to offer a KLK Heritage Scholarship, the program is near inexistent right now. We awarded two scholarships in 2019 and none since...even after modifying criteria. At this point, I recommend termination of the program and a refund for donor - minus a small percentage of donation that funded the 2019 award. I am receptive to comments on this subject.
Lastly, as mentioned in previous correspondence, local hotels are asking we consult with them in the summer as they have yet to set their 2027 pricing schedule. This is important as it will enable the committee to determine total estimated costs which will allow us to determine KLK Reunion registration fee. Rest assure that we will do our best to keep costs reasonable. However, remember the SF Bay area is fairly expensive but there are many things we can do to make sure everyone have a good time. Most importantly, we want to give everyone to meet family members and share our thoughts and memories of those who are no longer amongst us.
We remain excited about the reunion. We are working diligently to host an excellent reunion. I will provide more correspondence in a month or so. And we encourage everyone to review the website: www.keyslewiskeyes.org. You can find more details and links to proposed events and attractions.
Respectfully,
